Rusty's Story

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com

Rusty is a 5-year-old, 46-pound hound mix with a heart as big as his bark! This handsome boy is good with dogs and kids (he hasn’t met cats yet) and is crate trained. Although Rusty appears to be potty-trained, he has marked a few times in his foster home. Rusty is not currently neutered but will be prior to his adoption. We believe this will help curb this habit. He walks nicely on a leash but could use a little more practice to perfect his stroll. Rusty already knows "sit" and is working hard on "stay" — especially if you’ve got treats handy, because this guy is very food motivated!

Rusty is a true toy connoisseur — he loves all toys, no matter the type, and will proudly show off his collection. When he isn't playing, he can be found curled up in the first dog bed he can find.

Rusty has likely faced some tough times in his past and can be sensitive to loud voices or fast movements, often ducking or closing his eyes when startled. But with patience, love, and gentle reassurance, he blossoms into the snuggly, loyal companion he was always meant to be. He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who gives the best kisses and just wants to be close to those he trusts.

This tenderhearted hound is ready to find a forever family who will cherish him, spoil him with toys, and show him what it truly means to be safe and loved. Fill out an application to meet Rusty ASAP!

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Age: 5 years
Adoption Fee: $300
