Rusty's Story

Rusty

He’s doing great! Upon arrival at his new foster home, he thoroughly checked out the yard and met the resident dog, they even tried a mini-zoomie. Rusty ate his dinner with gusto, hung out for the evening then slept quietly through the night in his crate.

This tiny toy poodle boy was found in rough shape and with no collar or microchip. Rusty was severely neglected, underweight, matted, filthy, weak and anemic from the literally hundreds of blood sucking ticks infesting his body. His rescue angels clipped him, treated the ticks and got him on a flight to Dogwood. On arrival we gave our little guy subQ fluids and while still very weak, he gobbled his dinner, had a potty break and fell fast asleep is a soft warm bed in the house.

Rusty has settled in beautifully, resting, cuddling, eating and gaining strength every day. He’s just six pounds and around 7 years old. Rusty is ready to find his forever family and will make a wonderful companion.

Dogwood
Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dog/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/

https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
