My name is Rusty, and I’m a 3-year-old English Cocker Spaniel with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. My foster mom says I’m very handsome (I won’t argue with her 😉), but what really makes me special is how much I love to be close to my humans. I’m what they call a “Velcro dog”—basically, if you’re moving, I’m moving too. If you’re sitting, I’m right there soaking up all the love I can get!<br/><br/>I’ve had a bit of a journey, but I’m healthy, strong, and ready for my next chapter. I’m:<br/>✔️ Up to date on all my shots<br/>✔️ Microchipped<br/>✔️ Neutered<br/>✔️ Finished with my heartworm treatment (I’ll just need to test negative before it’s official—I promise I’m worth the wait!)<br/><br/>Let me tell you my favorite things:<br/>🍖 FOOD (seriously… I love food)<br/>🚶‍♂️ Walks—sniffing is my superpower<br/>🏃‍♂️ Running full speed in the backyard like the wind is chasing me<br/><br/>Oh—and I’m potty trained too! I do really well with my routine, though I may have the occasional accident while I’m still settling in and learning your home.<br/><br/>Because I’ve got lots of energy and enthusiasm, I’d do best in a home with:<br/>🏡 A fenced yard (so I can zoom safely!)<br/>👨‍👩‍👧 Older kids or adults (I might accidentally knock over little ones—I just get so excited!)<br/>🐶 Other dogs? Sure! I’m friendly!<br/>🐱 Cats? Hmm… probably not my thing<br/><br/>What I really want is someone who will love me as much as I love them. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references, and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, and be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved.  Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.
