Rusty's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Hi, my name is Rusty - will you be my best friend?! My foster mom says I'm the sweetest puppy ever - ready to give all the kisses, cuddles, and snuggles you could ever want!

I was born in October so I'm about 13 weeks old and about 9 pounds. Im a Boston terrier/Chihuahua mix, but my foster mom thinks the Chihuahua is a little stronger than the Boston. I will probably be about 20 pounds when I grow up.

I am already potty trained (i already knew how to use a doggy door, the older dogs in the foster house taught me how to get the humans to let us out!) I am great with other dogs (even making friends with the salty senior dog in the foster house!) And I even got along with the cats at my last foster spot before I came to NY!

I am happy in my crate when the people aren't at home.

I love the children in my foster home (10, 11, 12) too. They are a bit loud and move really fast - but they knew that scared me and once they brought their energy down a little we became best friends. Very young kids who can't understand that may not be a good fit for me.

It's a little cold out for me now - but I love running outside and can't wait to start going on walks when the weather changes!

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
