Rusty's Story

We recently took in this cute-happy boy. Hes 2 years old (turning 3 soon) and very charismatic! He loves attention, hanging out with our other Beagles, go out for walks (he walks pretty well on a leash). Hes food motivated and loves belly rubs. Hes a short but chubby boy, hes probably close to 40lbs, his ideal weight I think should be around 32ish lbs, well try to work on his weight while hes here.

We rescued him from a family that decided they couldnt keep him longer and was about to place him a shelter. Rusty was an outdoor dog, so hell need a family that will help him with house/potty training, he wasnt crate trained either, were working on it and hes getting better. He can be loud, so hes not suitable for an apartment complex. I also noticed that he loves grass, a home with an active Beagle lover family and a green backyard would be his perfect home! Unknown about how he does around cats, we have no known history and we dont have any in our home to test. But hes overall a friendly dog.

Included with adoption:

- Vet wellness exam
- Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies)
- Deworming (Fenbendazole)
- Rabies Certificate
- Fecal test (Pending results)
- FLEX4 test; Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma and Lyme (Pending results)
- Heartworm/Flea/Tick/Worm preventive given up to date (Credelio Quattro or Simparica Trio)
- Microchip with prepaid lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- Neuter surgery
- Dental cleaning
- Leash, harness and collar with microchip ID collar tag
- Adoption contract
- Some of his current food

Rusty will be ready to be adopted by this weekend, once he finish healing from his neuter surgery. Pick up would be in San Diego, CA. Transportation could be arranged to the right home, if needed.

If Rusty sounds like a good fit for your family, and youre interested in adopting him, feel free to fill out our adoption application form and well get back to you. Adoption fee is listed in this post.

CA Beagles's Adoption Policy
We start providing the info and pics/videos of the dogs available for adoption. When we have a family interested in our dogs we send the adoption application form (we ask several questions and request pictures of the home where the dog would be living at). If the application is approved we move forward with the adoption contract. We meet with the potential adopter and the dog. If all goes well in the meeting the potential adopter can take the dog home after the meeting. Once the dog is adopted we do periodic follow ups to make sure it was a good fit and dog is doing well.
