Just look at this sweet face...<br/><br/>Eight-year-old Rusty has been through a LOT in his life. It is believed he was abandoned in a field by his owner (what kind of human being does that?) and evaded capture for at least eight months! Then he waited another six weeks at the pound before being rescued and sent to foster care, where he thrived. The boy is a survivor!<br/><br/>Rusty eventually found a loving home where he spent the next two years being loved, cared for and learning that people can be pretty wonderful. Sadly, circumstances changed and his owner was no longer able to care for him, so Rusty is once again looking for a family to call his own.<br/><br/>Rusty is a gentle, sweet boy who takes time to trust new people. He tends to favor women and is comfortable around men, though he's unlikely to seek them out for affection. Food is still the quickest way to earn his love!<br/><br/>These days, Rusty is embracing his hound side: napping in the sun, snoring on the couch and enjoying life at a slower pace. He's great on leash and would love a home with other dogs. Retired folks or moderately active adults who appreciate a laid-back companion could be just his people.<br/><br/>Rusty is in good health, up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, housebroken and kennel trained, and a favorite with his vet's staff.
