Rusty's Story

Hi there, I’m Rusty—and if you’re looking for a calm, steady companion, I might just be your guy.

I’m a 10-year-old yellow pup, about 70 pounds of easygoing goodness. I’m past all that puppy chaos and have really perfected the art of being a polite, gentle housemate. I’m fully housetrained and will quietly stand by the back door when I need to go out. When you’re away, I don’t need a crate—I just find a cozy spot on the floor and nap until you’re back.

I live with two small dogs right now and mostly just do my own thing, though I do enjoy playing with the neighbor’s dog when the mood strikes. I’m great with kids—truly patient and kind. The little ones can be a bit clumsy with me, and I don’t mind at all. I’m gentle when taking treats, never try to sneak food, and I’ve got nice manners all around.

Walks are one of my favorite things, and I’m very well-behaved on a leash. I don’t pull, and I’m not the type to bolt out the door either. Car rides? No problem—I’ll just lie down and relax. At home, I’m happiest just being near you. I’ll quietly stand by your side for a good back rub or stretch out in the grass for a peaceful nap in the sunshine.

I should let you know—cats and chickens aren’t really my thing, so I’d do best in a home without them.

I know several commands, I don’t chew things I shouldn’t, and I sleep soundly right next to the bed all night. Basically, I’m a very, very good boy who’s ready to bring calm, comfort, and a lot of love into your life.

If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who asks for very little but gives a whole lot, I’d love to meet you.

If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at www.lolin.org and click on Adopt, Apply for a Dog. From there, you can submit an Adoption Application to be considered for this dog. You MUST be an approved applicant to meet LOLIN dogs. There is no central location or hours to meet dogs.
