Meet Rusty! <br/>1 year old | Mixed Breed | 45 lbs<br/><br/>Rusty is a friendly, people-loving, energetic dog who is always ready to join you on life's adventures!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>He's done great with kids and loves being around people... but shelter life is harder for him than most.<br/><br/>Rusty became extremely stressed here. The noise, confinement, and constant stimulation are overwhelming for him, and it's started to affect his behavior here. <br/><br/>He is currently enrolled in a board and train program with Country Road Boarding & obedience thanks to funds raised by his previous family. Rusty is making progress, building confidence and learning valuable skills! We don't want to see that progress undone by returning to the stress and overstimulation of the shelter. Our goal is to find him a placement before he has to return to the shelter!<br/><br/>A rural home, active lifestyle, or even a farm-type setting could be a great fit for him, where he has room to run, a job to do, or a way to channel his energy in a positive way! <br/><br/> <br/><br/>He previously lived with other female dogs and children and did great with both!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>In his previous home, he showed a lot of interest in chasing cats and chickens, though he was never allowed direct interaction with them. Because of this, a home without cats or someone willing to help redirect that behavior would be best. With his age and consistency, he should do just fine!<br/><br/>He is crate trained, but may need a little guidance with potty training while he adjusts to a new home and routine.<br/><br/>He has so much potential! He's young. He's smart. He's driven. He's eager to please!<br/><br/>If you're looking for a dog to do life with, not just sit on the sidelines... Please allow 24-36 hours for a response. If approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet & greet! Any other dogs in the home must come along and some dogs may require all family members to come as well!
