Meet Rusty! <br/>11 months old | Mixed Breed | 45 lbs<br/><br/>Rusty is a friendly, people-loving, high energy young dog who is always ready to go!<br/><br/>He's done great with kids and loves being around his people... but shelter life is harder for him than most.<br/><br/>Rusty is extremely stressed in this environment. The noise, the confinement, and the constant stimulation have been overwhelming for him, and it's started to affect his behavior here.<br/><br/>Because of that, we are really looking for the right placement for him.<br/><br/>Rusty is the kind of dog who needs:<br/> Space to move and burn energy<br/> A structured routine and consistency<br/> An outlet for his drive and instincts<br/><br/>A rural home, active lifestyle, or even a farm-type setting could be a great fit for him, where he has room to run, a job to do, or a way to channel his energy in a positive way.<br/><br/>He previously lived with other dogs, but has struggled with dogs in the shelter environment, so a meet and greet is required if there are other dogs in the home.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>In his previous home, he showed a lot of interest in chasing cats and chickens, though he was never allowed direct interaction with them. Because of this, a home without cats or small animals would likely be best, or one with an experienced owner who can manage and redirect that behavior.<br/><br/>He is crate trained, but will need continued guidance and consistency with potty training as he adjusts to a new home and routine.<br/><br/>For someone who understands high energy, driven dogs and is willing to give him structure, space, and direction... he has so much potential!
