Rustie's Story
Rustie ~12-year-old male yellow Lab Neutered 108 lbs
Foster or Adopter

Background.
Rustie has been living at the Hugs for Harry sanctuary for senior and disabled dogs for a few months now. He has a large number of fans but no one has stepped up to provide him with the quiet home he needs. Rustie was found as a stray and brought into the Stockton shelter. Even though he was microchipped, efforts to contact his owner were unsuccessful. Placed on the euth list at the shelter, the awesome "Hugs for Harry" rescue organization scooped him up (along with several other dogs) and took him to their facility in Lafayette; they immediately contacted us to see if we would take Rustie into our program. While he is safe at Hugs for Harry, he very much needs a home life. The shelter life is proving to be very hard on Rustie.

Relaxing with Rustie -- https://youtube.com/shorts/yONOfcfXfrs

Rustie will move for treats -- https://youtube.com/shorts/yONOfcfXfrs

Rustie would rather just sit -- https://youtube.com/shorts/HrjvJj0rhzM

What Rustie's Rescue Rep says.
Rustie needs a home with a yard where he can bask in the sun and relax... and big dog bed in the family room where he can snooze. Rustie needs to be the only dog in the house. Cats might be ok - Rustie doesn't move fast. He has been great with kids. One easy walk per day would probably suffice. Minimal stairs and steps. Exercise/weight-management program definitely called for.

Medical.
Neutered. Current on vaccinations. Microchipped. Rustie has lost several pounds due to diet management by the Hugs for Harry team. He does have arthritis.

Rustie is located in: Lafayette.

If you can foster (or might want to adopt) Rustie, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net
