Russet Potato's Story

Russet Potato is a 48-lb spayed female hound mix who is still learning about the world around her. She’s in an important socialization stage and will need an adopter with patience and understanding—someone who can give her time to build confidence and settle in at her own pace.

Russet has classic puppy energy and curiosity, paired with a strong love of food, which makes her a great candidate for positive-reinforcement training. Treats will be a big help as she continues learning manners and routines.

She came to us with another dog and may enjoy canine companionship, but since we’re unsure how she’d do with a new dog in the home, a meet-and-greet with any potential dog siblings is strongly recommended. Because we don’t know her full history, we’re also unsure how she’d do with children or other animals.

Russet Potato is looking for a committed home ready to guide her through this growing phase and help her become a confident, well-rounded companion.

Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!

Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $300+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
