Hi, I'm Russell!<br/><br/>I arrived at Mississauga Animal Services as a stray in March 2025 and, unfortunately, nobody ever came to claim me. Since then, I've been patiently waiting for a forever home to call my own.<br/><br/>I'm a 6-7-year-old Lab mix, and since coming to the shelter, I've been neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated. I'm all ready to start my next adventure with the right family!<br/><br/>I'm a lovable guy who absolutely adores my favourite people. Once I trust you, you'll quickly discover that I'm a bit of a lap dog at heart and always happy to be close by. Sometimes when I'm feeling a little overwhelmed or extra excited, I might have a nervous tinkle, but with patience and understanding, I settle in nicely.<br/><br/>I've done well meeting older, patient dogs and could potentially enjoy a canine companion who understands my gentle nature. I haven't been tested with cats or children yet, so those introductions would need to be considered carefully.<br/><br/>When it comes to new people, especially men, I can be a little unsure at first. The shelter staff call it "stranger danger." Thankfully, a few tasty treats and a little patience usually help me understand that new friends aren't so scary after all, and I recover quickly once I feel comfortable.<br/><br/>I'm a pretty good walking buddy, especially when I'm wearing a harness. If you walk me on a collar, I may try to pull a bit more, so a harness helps me put my best paw forward. I already know some basic commands like sit and paw, and while I'm still working on some of my manners, I'm eager to learn and make my people proud.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just needs a little time to build confidence and trust, I could be the perfect match for you. His adoption fee has been lowered to the cost of a one year license ($25).
