Rune's Story

Hi! I'm Rune!

I'm a 7 1/2 year old, 80 pound Great Dane/Hound mix. I was adopted from Charming Pet Rescue as a puppy and had a home for several years, but after some rehoming confusion, I was found running stray. Luckily CPR found me and I'm just hanging out until my new family comes along.

I don't just "like" to walk... I LOVE to walk. Going at a nice easy pace and letting my hound-given nose lead the way is my favorite thing ever. I don't pull at all, but if I get distracted by a deer or a cat, just give me a nice tug and I'll be back on track. I do enjoy a good plushy toy to toss around but my energy level is moderate. As long as I can walk, sleep, and use my snoot to sniff, I'll be the happiest boy.

I'm house broken and good on a leash. I might have a little anxiety but hiding treats around the house and some mentally engaging toys help. My foster got me a Pupsicle licking toy and I am loooving it.

I know I'm big, but I'm a certified gentle giant. I know that I'm older, but I still have plenty of life and love to give. All I want is a soft place to sleep and nice family to call mine.

Half my adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor!
