Ruger's Story

Ruger — the total package wrapped up in one incredibly handsome hound!

This shy guy may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, you’ll have a loyal buddy for life. Ruger loves fun and adventure, whether he’s doing zoomies in the backyard or heading out for a nice walk with his favorite people. He walks beautifully on leash, though true to his hound nature, he does enjoy stopping for the occasional sniff break along the way.
Ruger is housetrained, knows “sit” and “give paw,” and is currently learning to wait patiently for the “ok” before taking a tasty treat. Smart and handsome! He also gets along well with other dogs, and a meet and greet is always recommended to help everyone start off on the right paw.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little patience and love to shine, Ruger may be the perfect fit for your home.
An Adoption Angel paid his adoption fee, so all he needs now is for you to come meet him and take him home with you. Come meet Ruger today!

~~~~~
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open every day from noon to 6pm (excluding limited holidays/events). You can meet our adoptable animals with the convenience of an appointment or as a walk-in. Appointments can be made by emailing adoption@wilcotx.gov.
In addition to our main shelter at 1855 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX 78626, you can also meet adoptable dogs at our satellite location, the Red Poppy Adoptique, located at 110 W L Walden Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626.
Interested in fostering a dog in need? Take one of our pups on an adventure for a few hours-giving them a much-needed break from the shelter while you enjoy some quality time. The program runs at both locations daily starting at noon.
We always welcome your dogs to come and meet our dogs, too! We'll see you soon at either location!
