RUGAR's Story
Meet Ruger 2 🐾

Ruger 2 is a 2-year-old sweetheart who’s finally getting a second chance at life. For his entire life, he lived outside on a chain, with very little opportunity to experience the comfort and security every dog deserves. Despite that, Ruger’s heart remains gentle and kind.

After his original owner passed away, Ruger was taken in without proper permission and sadly experienced a traumatic dog attack in that home. Through no fault of his own, he’s endured more than most dogs ever should. Thankfully, with the proper approval from Animal Control, Ruger and the other dog from the property were safely brought into rescue.

He’s simply scared. The world is very new and overwhelming to him, and he’s still learning that he’s safe.

Ruger needs a calm, patient foster home — a quiet place where he can decompress, feel secure, and begin to trust at his own pace. He doesn’t need much: just consistency, kindness, and someone willing to show him that life can be soft and safe. He would be best suited as an only dog and slowly needs to work into meeting other dogs. He will need a heeler savvy person, with patience who can work with him and get him readjusted to the world. A fenced yard is great, no small children.

With time and understanding, Ruger has all the potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. He’s survived so much already. Now he just needs someone to help him finally live. ❤️
currently fostered in Louisiana he has been neutered. He has already been treated for heartworms and is in the resting phase post treatment.More updates as we get them and pictures to be posted.
PUPDATE ON RUGER2 4/29 He has settled so much. I am honestly dealing with an entirely different dog. He’s much more confident and assure of himself. He hasn’t reacted to any other dogs in the pack for a few weeks now. He is housebroken and kennel trained with food. Working on willingness to crate without food. He is high energy. He will kennel for hours without problems. Has LOTS of energy when free but settles very nicely after a an hour if so of play time outside. He is still in foster in Louisiana.. We have transport to Florida if someone will commit to fostering this lovely boy!!!!!
