Hi, I'm Rugar! My foster mom also likes to call me Rugar Roo, Roo, and Roo Magoo! <br/><br/>I'm a 7-8-year-old, 43-pound (working on gaining some weight) doodle mix with the gentlest soul. I'm just beginning to discover how wonderful life in a home can be! <br/><br/>I'm a calm, observant boy who loves being near his people. As a certified velcro dog, I am most happy following my foster mom from room to room, quietly watching and waiting for cues about what we are doing next. I'm good with car rides too! I will jump into my foster mom's car with no issues and go wherever I can with her!  I am very eager to please and truly enjoy attention and companionship. <br/><br/>I've been doing very well in the house and have not had any accidents so far. However, I'm still figuring out how to let my foster mom know I need to go out, so a routine is best! I have a crate available to me, and I'll go in it when my foster mom says "crate", but I overall don't enjoy it and have been doing great crate-free for weeks!<br/><br/>I walk nicely on a leash, and I'm learning to match the pace of my foster with a loose, relaxed leash. I'm a very polite gentleman who keeps all four paws on the floor. I do bark to let my foster mom know the neighbors are home, or someone is going down the road, but I quiet pretty quickly when she reassures me, "we like them." I do not do steps, so the past tornado warnings were interesting! Something I will have to work on! But thunder and loud noises don't seem to bother me! <br/><br/>Everything in this new life is still a little unfamiliar, so I can be cautious at first. I'm a gentle, sensitive boy who takes a moment to process new experiences, but once I realize everything is safe, my sweet and trusting personality really shines. <br/><br/>I have gone to doggy daycare and been around a few dogs, and I do fine, but I prefer my human. I have not been around cats or children yet. <br/><br/>What I love most is simply being near my people—napping nearby or quietly keeping you company throughout the day. I don't enjoy being alone and will sing sad jazz tunes when you are away. So someone who is home a lot and has another dog would be ideal! Toys are new to me, so I often do puzzles to occupy my time. <br/><br/>I'm a sweet soul who is learning what it means to feel safe and loved. With a patient family and a little time, I will blossom into a loyal companion who just wants to be by your side. <br/><br/><br/>If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
