Rufus's Story

Rufus and his brothers came into our rescue with their mother when a very high kill shelter found them abandoned. They were very skinny and poor. They went straight in a foster home where they were cared for and ready to adopt. They are approx. 9 weeks old. While at their foster home they have learned to use the dog door to potty outside. They are very smart pups. We are posting a picture of their mother, she is a beautiful red golden/lab mix but we have no idea what the father was. They have heads like a boxer. They have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and put on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. They are being fostered in Kentucky with USDA transport available up north. Potential adopters must fill out the online application first, no phone calls accepted until this process is complete. Adopters must have a fenced in backyard or rural acreage. We want to make our adoptions as easy as possible, as we want our dogs in homes and not living in kennels, but we also want to make sure our decision on their forever home will be a permanent, loving and safe environment. Rescue dogs have had disappointments already in their short lives and we want their 2nd chance to be our best choice.
