DOB: 08/22/2023<br/><br/>Rufus has settled into foster care and is already making himself extremely at home. He’s a big, strong, 90-pound meatball with a massive DERP factor, zero respect for personal space, and a heart as big as he is.<br/><br/>Once he decides you’re his person, that’s it. You are now his emotional support human. He will lean on you. He will attempt to sit on you. He will absolutely believe he is lap-sized (he is not).<br/><br/>Underneath the teenage FOMO, occasional bully energy, and “I must be involved in EVERYTHING” enthusiasm, Rufus is soft and eager to please. He wants guidance, reassurance, and a human who can help him slow his brain down and make good choices.<br/><br/>Rufus is active and thrives on long walks, mental enrichment, structure, and training. He’s not here for chaos, but he’s also not a decorative couch pillow. He is crate-trained and can be left alone at home for a few hours — he does well when given a safe space of his own.<br/><br/>He already knows sit, down, paw, and go to bed, and recently started engage/disengage work — he caught on fast. With a handler willing to continue training and properly manage situations so he doesn’t get overwhelmed, Rufus will keep levelling up.<br/><br/>Now the important part:<br/><br/>Rufus is big and very strong. He is leash-reactive and requires an experienced, confident adult handler who understands strong working breeds. This is non-negotiable.<br/><br/> Adult-only home<br/><br/> No children<br/><br/>No other animals — no dogs, no cats<br/><br/>He needs to be the only pet in the home and the centre of his person’s world. He is not a dog park dog, and he is not suitable for a first-time dog owner.<br/><br/>Big dog. Big heart. Big derp.
