Rufus's Story
Rufus came to us as a stray after being found skinny, dirty, and clearly down on his luck. Despite everything he'd been through, he has been nothing but sweet, loving, and happy to meet everyone he encounters.

When Rufus first arrived, we thought he might be a half-grown Wirehaired Pointer puppy. Then we looked at his teeth and realized he's actually an adult! He is about 18 months old. So our best guess is... he might just be a half-grown Wirehaired Pointer who's never going to grow the other half. Whatever his breed mix may be, he's the perfect compact size! He is currently 26.8 pounds but we are thinking his healthy weight will be 35 pounds.

Rufus loves to play, enjoys being around people, and is always ready to make a new friend. He's currently working on crate training and leash manners and is making steady progress every day. He's also slowly putting on much-needed weight and looking healthier all the time.

Rufus is current on his vaccinations, has been dewormed, and will be neutered before leaving the shelter.

If you're looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a big personality packed into a smaller package, Rufus may be the perfect match for your family. Come meet him—you'll fall in love just like we did!
