Rue's Story

MEET RUE — A LITTLE LOVE AND SAFETY CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

At just nine months old, Rue has already endured more than any puppy should. After suffering abuse, she was found starving on the side of the road. Today, she is learning that people can be kind, meals will come, and she deserves to feel safe, loved, and cared for.

Rue is a playful, high-energy girl with a big love for toys! She does great with people and children over six. Because she’s a clumsy puppy we prefer no small children. She is also wonderful with other dogs when given a slow introduction and the time she needs to feel comfortable.

Because of her past, Rue is afraid of men wearing baseball caps. She needs a patient family who will allow her to build trust at her own pace, offering gentle reassurance, consistency, and plenty of love. She is still working on house training and will need encouragement and understanding as she continues to learn.

Rue has so much life ahead of her—so many games to play, lessons to learn, and happy memories to make. More than anything, she deserves to discover what it feels like to be a cherished member of a family.

Adopters must own their home and have a fenced yard
Children in the home would be better if not toddlers
Adoption fee: $450

Apply to adopt Rue at www.pawscrossed.dog

Please share and help this sweet girl find the safe, loving home she has been waiting for.

Paws Crossed, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Thank you for choosing to adopt a dog! The decision to adopt is an important one, which we take very seriously. Before submitting the adoption application, please take a moment to carefully read and complete the adoption application entirely. Please understand that if information is left unanswered, it will delay processing. In order to adopt a dog from Paws Crossed Inc., the applicant (and co-applicant) must be at least 25 years old (younger applicants may be considered on a case by case basis), be able to provide references, identification, consent to a home visit and pay the adoption fee. **All owned dogs (current and previous) MUST be on a continuous heartworm prevention or the application will be immediately denied. Please visit our website www.Pawscrossed.dog to see our available dogs. All of our dogs come spayed/neutered (if they are too young, you will need to agree to a Spay/Neuter Contract when they turn of age), up to date on vaccinations, microchip, heartworm tested, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Sometimes dogs are being treated for ailments and will need continued veterinarian care. If you choose to adopt a dog receiving treatment you agree to continue with our vet and medication. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing dogs. An application does not obligate you to adopt and can be transferred to any dog. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some dogs receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in or even a different dog, a volunteer will give you a call within 7-10 days. If you would like to transfer your application to a different dog, please email us immediately and we will tell you if the dog chosen is still available and or if it will be a good fit. Adopting a new dog is a commitment for the lifetime of your new dog! We like to make sure that your new dog is a good fit for your entire family including your existing pets. After a trial adoption period if you are ready to commit we will finalize your adoption. The Adoption fee will be due at that time. Fees are as follows: All puppies (12 months or younger) will be $275, all adults (13 months or older) will be $225. Pure breeds, Toy breeds, and "Designer" breeds will have an increased fee depending on the medical and/or personal care needs of that particular dog. Adoption fees are subject to change at the rescue's discretion. Paws Crossed Inc. reserves the right to deny any application. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
