Rudy's Story

Rudy is part of a litter of 11 puppies, along with their mom Merry, that were taken in by our rescue. Rudy is now 10 months old. Mom Merry’s DNA was done, and she is a Malinois/Shepherd mix. The puppies all looked so different from each other, so DNA tests were done on a few of them. Two of the DNA tests came back as a pretty equal mix of Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Husky and Malinois. The 3rd came back as 50% Australian shepherd and a mix of Malinois/German shepherd…. So same litter but different dad dogs. While Rudy’s DNA has not yet been done, his identical looking brother, Ralphie had his DNA done by his new adoptive family using the same Wisdom panel. So, we think that Rudy’s DNA would be very similar and that he would be in the Australian Shepherd/ Malinois/German shepherd group.<br/>Rudy is a ball of energy who loves to play, he gets along with others, but he definitely likes to be in charge. He is a little smaller than his siblings but holds his own with them. He is a cuddler and loves attention. He takes a minute longer than his siblings to warm up to new people but once he does, he is all yours. He is an active dog that requires daily exercise, and frequent activity so he will need a home where this can happen. Like his brothers and sisters, Rudy is always ready to go, he is playful, curious, adorable, cuddly, and always sweet and loving. He likes to take a dip in the kiddie pools but is not as much of a water dog as his siblings. He loves to be petted and be in your lap. She would thrive in a home where he has someone to give him all the love he is looking for. He is curious about the goats at the rescue but has not shown any aggression towards them and has shown little interest in the chickens when they are in their coop. He has not been tested with cats but does have a bit of a prey drive so may not be a great fit with cats. Rudy is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is ready and looking for his perfect family.
