MEET RUBY — READY FOR HER FOREVER HOME<br/><br/>Ruby is proof that dogs don’t hold onto the past the way we do. This beautiful 50-pound Shepherd mix came to us in heartbreaking condition after what appears to have been years of neglect. Her coat and body told the story of a dog who had been overlooked for far too long, likely spending much of her life outside without nearly enough love, attention or care.<br/><br/>Thankfully, that chapter is behind her.<br/><br/>Ruby is incredibly resilient, forgiving and genuinely one of the happiest girls. She loves everyone she meets, big or small, and is gentle, affectionate and eager to bond with her people. She is extremely food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding.<br/><br/>Ruby currently lives with both dogs and cats in her foster home and is doing wonderfully. She’s making great progress with house and crate training, loves riding in the car and will happily follow you from room to room if you let her. She really just wants to be included.<br/><br/>At 50 pounds, she’s the perfect medium size — big enough for adventures but small enough to fit right into your everyday life.<br/><br/>Ruby was recently spayed and is officially ready for adoption. Her beautiful coat is still growing back and will continue filling in with time. We can only imagine how gorgeous she’ll be on the outside once it catches up with how beautiful she already is on the inside.<br/><br/>Ruby likely spent years being someone’s backyard dog. We want the rest of her life to look completely different. We want her inside, included, spoiled, taken on adventures and sleeping comfortably every night knowing she finally belongs.<br/><br/>She has so many wonderful years ahead of her. After everything she has endured, Ruby deserves to spend every one of them knowing what it feels like to be someone’s family.<br/><br/>Ruby survived the life she had.
