Ruby's Story
Ruby was found as a stray in a small town. She was picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. She was going to be euthanized because the shelter was full. We had to find a foster quickly to save her life, and thankfully a hero agreed to bring Ruby into her home. She has been in our care since August and has completed her veterinary care. Ruby will be a wonderful companion for her new family, and we hope she’ll find a forever home soon!

Ruby likes to go on walks and car rides. She is a great leash walker.
She loves children of all ages and is very gentle around smaller kids. She enjoys taking naps with them too. Ruby’s right eye droops, and our vet said it is an old injury that doesn’t need treatment. She is in great health for her age and just needs someone to love.

Ruby is calm and takes directions well. She knows basic commands, loves everyone she meets and is affectionate. She is currently in a foster home with other dogs of various ages and sizes. She gets along with all of them.

Ruby is about 7 years old, and she weighs 63 pounds. We think she’s a Lab mix. She is spayed, vaccinated for rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. She is also microchipped, heartworm negative and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Ruby can arrive in Glastonbury, CT on September 26.
