Roy's Story

Hi! My name is Roy, and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 1 year old male Black Mouth Cur mix who is eager for a new home!

I've been told I'm a very special guy, because it's true! I've quickly gained a reputation in the shelter as the "coolest guy in school", seeing as everyone wants to become my friend (with good reason too)! I'm a happy go lucky pup that has shown I can be very adaptable to my surroundings and am often used to help other dogs come out of their shell. I give kisses to nervous dogs to let them know it's okay to play and show their silly side and because of this, I've gained popularity around campus! I'm also the perfect mix of playful energy and sweet sensitivity. I can be a little shy when meeting new people but if you give me a little time (and maybe a couple of visits), you'll see my true personality shine. I was first brought into the shelter as a puppy when I was transferred in from an overcrowded shelter, adopted, and unfortunately had to come back since my person was moving out of the country. I spent much of my early life outdoors, but I'm ready to be a house dog and even more ready to be included in daily life!

Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information, please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777.

When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home.
