Roy's Story

Hi there! I’m Roy, a 1.5-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua/Papillon mix with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love just waiting to come out! I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a little shy when meeting new people. The world can feel like a big, overwhelming place for a little guy like me and I need some time to figure out who I can trust. But please don’t mistake my shyness for a lack of love. Underneath my timid exterior is an incredibly sweet boy who just needs someone willing to give him a chance. I promise there’s something really special waiting on the other side of my nerves!

Once you’ve earned my trust, something wonderful happens. That shy little dog who once kept his distance becomes your most devoted companion! I’ll be your shadow, following you from room to room and wanting nothing more than to be close to the person who made me feel safe. I have medium to low energy, so I’m perfectly happy enjoying a quieter life with someone who appreciates the little things. I’m looking for a patient, understanding family who won’t rush me or expect me to be their best friend overnight. Give me the time and space I need to blossom and I’ll reward you with a kind of loyalty and love that makes every moment of patience worthwhile. Sometimes the dogs who take the longest to trust are the ones who love the deepest.

I’m dog friendly, people friendly once I feel comfortable and can be cat tested upon request! I’ll come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. My adoption also includes one month of FREE pet insurance plus a Fi Nano Mini GPS tracker with six months of tracking service ($20 activation fee)! I know I might not be the first dog to run into your arms, but if you give me a little time, I just might become the one who never wants to leave your side. Could you be the patient, loving person I’ve been waiting for?

If interested, please DO NOT submit an inquiry through Petfinder. Fill out the application at the link below.

https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/63adcb00cb896f59b74103d2/6ae0095a587df02d9c007c04

Angie's Dog House's Adoption Policy
Our Adoption Process Our goal is to make the adoption process as smooth as possible while making sure each animal is matched with the right home 1. Submit an Application Complete our adoption application using the link at the bottom of each animal’s bio. Our team will review your application and if approved, someone from the rescue will reach out. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN INQUIRY ON PETFINDER 2. Home Video Once approved, we will ask you to submit a video walkthrough of your home and yard in lieu of an in-person home visit 3. Animals Already in Foster If the animal is currently in a foster home, the foster parent will contact you to answer questions, tell you more about the animal and arrange a meet and greet. Please bring a leash to the meet and greet. If everything goes well and you feel it is the right match, you may complete the adoption and take your new family member home that day 4. Direct Adoptions From Transport Some of our animals travel to Michigan specifically for direct adoption rather than going into a foster home. Because these animals are coming on transport specifically to meet their approved adopter, a direct adoption must be a firm commitment. Please ask any questions and make sure you are comfortable moving forward before committing to a transport animal 5. Finalizing the Adoption To complete the adoption, you will sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Once complete, your new family member is officially yours and can head home with you
