She came into the shelter as a stray with her puppy, Sully. Life in the noisy, stressful shelter was terrifying for her — she would press herself against the wall, trying to disappear from the chaos, while little Sully bravely stood between her legs as her tiny protector and emotional support.<br/><br/>Thankfully, we were able to bring Roxy into our rescue and place her in a loving foster home. At first, she hid behind a chair — her safe spot — but with patience, time, and love, she’s begun to blossom. After six weeks in foster care, Roxy has shown us just how sweet and gentle she truly is.<br/><br/>While she’s still shy at first, she warms up quickly — especially when other dogs are around. Roxy absolutely adores other dogs, big or small, male or female. They give her comfort and confidence. Now that Sully has found his forever home, it’s Roxy’s turn to find hers.<br/><br/>Roxy would do best in a quieter home with someone who understands that trust takes time. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your loyal, devoted companion for life. The adoption process is simple and we try to make it as quick as possible. The steps are as follows: 1. Fill out an application at one of our websites. www.azmastiffrescue.com 2. We will call you to do a phone interview. 3. We will conduct a home visit. 4. You meet our dogs and adopt. You must be willing to drive to meet our dogs. It is really the best way for you to choose the dog that fits you best. And it gives you an opportunity to meet all of our dogs. Occasionally, if a potential home is near where the dog is being fostered then the dog can be brought to meet you during the home visit. We work hard to insure that our dogs fit the homes that they go into. We will only place a dog into a home that fits. We make every effort for you to adopt the dog of your choice.
