Roxy's Story
Please meet Roxy! She is around 8 years old, spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped, and house/crate trained. Roxy’s breed mix is fun; she’s part Boxer and part Border Collie! Roxy is being fostered in Stanwood, WA.

Roxy’s foster mom says, “she’s one of the kindest, most gentle seniors I’ve ever met, and I’ve been in rescue for a long time!” Once Roxy warms up to new people, she is playful and goofy. She’s a loyal girl and will be by your side wanting to be involved in whatever you are doing. Roxy loves people of all shapes and sizes but does gravitate toward men a bit more. She also loves kids!

Roxy is as smart as a whip and knows some awesome tricks too. Place a treat on her nose, tell her to wait, then say okay, she catches the treat in her mouth every time! Say “bang” and she’ll roll over and play dead. We told you she was goofy! Roxy is treat motivated, so there are probably many more things that her forever family could teach her. She also sits and waits for her meals and will even put herself to bed.

Roxy is not a huge fan of car rides, but her foster mom is working with her on that daily. She is, however, great on a leash and just needs a little reminder from time to time to focus, but she doesn’t pull too much. We are told that Roxy doesn’t do well with fireworks, so that’s another area that her foster mom will help her with.

For an 8-year-old, Roxy still has some pep in her step and loves to run and play chase. She also loves to explore her surroundings and enjoys a good roll in the grass.

Roxy is dog and cat friendly; however, small, highly active dogs aren’t her cup of tea. She’d be great with dogs her size; a mellow male pup would be perfect for her. Foxy would also do just fine as an only dog in her forever home, with visits from family, friends, and other dogs. Roxy’s ideal home would be one where her family is busy and active, as that’s what she was used to prior to coming into rescue.

Overall, Roxy is a catch! She’s a fun-loving girl and a huge love bug! If this is the kind of dog you’re looking for, then please fill out an application today – www.mustluvboxersrescue.com/adopt.
