Roxie's Story

Meet Roxie A Queen Looking for Her Kingdom
Sometimes, all a dog needs is a second chance.
This beautiful girl is Roxie, a 2-year-old Pit Bull weighing 66.3 pounds. She has a gorgeous smile, a loving heart for people, and a story that could have ended tragically.
Roxie's previous owner brought her to the vet to be euthanized after she got into a fight with another dog. But when the veterinary staff met her, they saw something different. They saw a young, healthy, people-friendly dog who still had so much life and love left to give. They couldn't bear to see her story end there, so they reached out to our rescue.
And of course, we said yes.
Because every dog deserves a chance to be loved for who they are.
Roxie isn't the kind of girl who wants to share her throne. She prefers to be the one and only queen of the castle. She does not do well with other dogs, and while she hasn't been tested with cats, we do not believe she should be placed in a home with them either.
What Roxie wants is simple: her person, her home, and all the love to herself.
Loves people and forms strong bonds
Loyal and protective of her family
Learning leash manners and making great progress
Needs to be the only pet in the household
Looking for someone who understands that some dogs simply thrive best as the center of attention
We do not know if Roxie is housebroken, as she has had to be kept separately from other pets and has primarily been housed in a run. But what we do know is this:
Roxie did not deserve to lose her life because she needed a different kind of home.
She deserves someone willing to see past her imperfections and recognize the amazing dog she can be in the right environment. She deserves a family who understands that being an only pet doesn't make her unworthy of love.
It simply means her happily ever after looks a little different.
Roxie comes:
Spayed
Vaccinated
On flea and tick prevention
Microchipped
Rescue adoption fee: $65
Somewhere out there is a person who wants a loyal companion, a protector, a couch buddy, and a best friend all wrapped into one beautiful Pit Bull package.
Maybe that person is you.
Message us to learn more about adopting Roxie and giving this sweet girl the second chance she almost never had. Because the dogs who come closest to losing everything often love the hardest when someone finally chooses them.
760-680-3713 Located in Anderson, Missouri
