Once unsure of the world around her, she has worked through many of her fears and is now building confidence with people. She does well with most men, though loud voices can still make her a bit uneasy at times—she'll just let you know with a bark.

Out on walks, she truly comes alive. She walks nicely on leash but is very much a scent-driven explorer who loves following her nose through the woods. Small critters like squirrels, bunnies, and birds are very exciting to her, so she'll need a handler who stays attentive and ready for those sudden “let's go!” moments. For her, nothing beats a peaceful walk in nature.

At home, she's a total lady. She's happy to entertain herself with toys, lounge on the couch, or relax in her bed or crate. She's also made great progress around cats—she can now coexist without chasing, though the temptation is definitely still there (her hilarious side-eye says it all!). With slow introductions and dog-savvy cats, she may continue to adjust, but patience is key.

She can still be a sensitive soul, especially during transitions between activities, and may occasionally show signs of anxiety. While she has had some mild separation anxiety in the past, it's infrequent and improving. Around other dogs, she's generally neutral but can sometimes react if she becomes overstimulated. The good news? She's already starting to build positive relationships with neighbor dogs at her own pace.

Her ideal home will be with someone patient, calm, and understanding—someone who can support her continued growth and appreciate the sweet, quirky, and loyal companion she is becoming.

If you're looking for a dog who will reward your kindness with trust, personality, and companionship, she just might be your perfect match.

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.

Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
