Roxanne's Story

Roxanne is a Tan/White Boxer that was brought to us from Tazewell County Animal Control. They believed that she was pregnant and when her time was up, they called us to see if we would take her in. We, of course, said yes. Upon her arrival we noticed that she didn't look pregnant. You could see many bones in her body (ribs, backbone, etc) and her belly was extremely large and tight. Upon taking x-rays we could see that she clearly wasn't pregnant and that something else was going on. We did an emergency surgery on her and found out that she was a victim of pyometra, an infection of the uterus, due to never being spayed. She has since recovered and is doing wonderfully. She has a bright sparkle in her eyes and absolutely loves walks and attention. She gets to go home with a potential adopter every weekend and they will decide in a couple of weeks if she gets to stay home with them forever.

All of our animals are cared for and examined by our veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. To inquire about any of our animals please e-mail us at rescuedheartanimalhospital@ymail.com or click on the e-mail link. Provide the name of the animal that you are interested in and your preferred contact information. We will then send you an adoption application and/or set up a time for you to stop in and meet Roxanne to ensure that she's the right pet for you.
