Roxanne's Story
Meet Roxy!

Roxy is one of those dogs who loves with her whole heart! She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and absolutely loves people — strangers included. The minute you start petting her, she'll melt right into you and happily soak up all the attention. And when she's not busy giving you her love, she's usually entertaining herself with her goofy personality and endless energy!

Roxy is a high-energy girl and may have some Malinois or another high-energy breed in her mix. She would thrive with an active family who enjoys getting outside, or a family with a securely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and burn off some energy. She LOVES being outside and will happily explore, observe, and take in everything around her. She's actually quite good at entertaining herself outdoors. Inside, however, she still needs supervision and guidance.

Roxy is smart, very treat-motivated, and eager to learn. She already knows come, sit, shake, lay down, place, and kennel. She's still learning boundaries and would benefit from a confident, consistent leader who will continue teaching her what is expected of her.

She currently lives with a cat, but we think she would likely be happiest with a confident canine friend closer to her size. Having another dog to play with may be a wonderful outlet for some of her energy.

Roxy is not bothered by much. Traffic, loud noises, gunshots, and thunderstorms don't seem to faze her. She's also a great car rider, even on long trips!

On walks, Roxy can be a bit of a puller, so she'll need someone willing to continue working on her leash manners. Her foster uses a prong collar with her. She also has a playful mouth and sometimes likes to give little playful bites — something her foster is actively working on with her. Because she can be jumpy and enthusiastic, we would recommend older children who are comfortable around a big, energetic dog.

Roxy is a wonderful combination of sweet, silly, smart, affectionate, and full of life. She's not looking for a couch-potato lifestyle — she's looking for a family who will give her exercise, structure, training, and plenty of love.
