When Rowlf first arrived, he was scared and he was clearly heartbroken. It’s obvious he was once deeply cared for, and losing that world left him shattered.<br/>But underneath that initial fear? A stunning, fun, and incredibly affectionate soul was waiting to come back out. Rowlf is truly wonderful and has so much love left to give. <br/>New Year’s Resolution for 2026: Let’s break fewer hearts. Help us make sure Rowlf never has to feel that way again.<br/><br/>Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.<br/><br/>All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.<br/><br/>All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).<br/><br/>We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s).
