Ross's Story

Ross is in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Meet Ross--A low-key, low-maintenance, housebroken dog who had a rough start in life and is now blossoming into a reliable and independent companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, Ross does great in his crate, loves car rides and is confident meeting new people. He does tend to resource guard his food/toys a bit so it may be best if he is in a home without other dogs.

Ross doesn't bark often, but you'll laugh when he does as he has a sweet, wheezy 'smoker's cough' bark. He also is a champion scooter when laying on his back and has amazing talent arranging pillows into a comfortable nest for naps. Belly rub? Yes and often! Ross knows "sit" and "leave it," will come when he is called and is eager to learn more commands. If you are looking for a grateful and well-adjusted companion, please come meet Ross! And bring a ham hock! It's one of his favorite treats!

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
