Rosie's Story
Rosie came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Neglected, uncomfortable, and unsure of the world around her, she deserved so much better than the life she had known. Thankfully, an amazing foster family stepped up for her and for the last 5 months, Rosie has slowly learned what love, comfort, and safety feel like. Rosie is currently back at the shelter.

With medicated baths, supplements, patience, and care, her skin has cleared up beautifully. But even more importantly, her spirit has healed too.

Now Rosie is just a big baby and total couch potato who wants nothing more than snuggles, belly rubs, and a soft place to nap beside her people.

Rosie is:
*6 1/2 years old
*44 lbs
*Spayed
*Potty trained
*Good with kids
*Fine with little dogs and cats
*Can be selective with larger dogs
*Has an old healed wound that makes one of her back legs a little difficult at times, but it doesn't stop her from loving life and soaking up affection

She deserves a family who will love her forever. A family who will show her that her hard past is truly behind her.

Rosie is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption. All our dogs receive a behavior assessment before being placed for adoption to determine initial behaviors towards people and other dogs in the shelter environment. If you have questions about an animal please come to the shelter during our operating hours or email AnimalServices@bcohio.gov.

WE HAVE MORE PETS IN THE SHELTER THAT ARE NOT ON PETFINDER.
For our most up to date list of adoptable animals and access to our adoption application please visit: https://www.animalfriendshs.org/adopt/

Dog Adoption Fees:
Puppies under 6 months: $200
Adult Dogs 6 months and over but less than 8 years : $95
Senior Dogs 8+ years old: $50

Breed listings: Please note that Animal Friends recognizes current research showing that the large majority of breed guesses on shelter dogs are inaccurate and that only a small percentage of an animals genetics make up their physical appearance. People visiting the shelter in person or viewing animals on our website will note that all of our dogs are labeled as Mixed Breeds unless they have been DNA tested or are surrendered to the shelter with paperwork. Any potential breeds listed here on PetFinder are not assumed to be accurate and are merely a starting point for people to be able to search for a dog who may visually resemble a breed they are interested in. We feel that the best matches are made based on a dogs individual personality and recommend families come meet our animals in person. Please reach out with any questions!
