Rosie's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Hi, I’m Rosie! I’m a 2-3 year old border collie mix! Despite my sunny personality I had a rough start to my life. I was dumped in a nature preserve in Tennessee and survived until some people were kind enough to come rescue me! When I first came to Homeward Bound NY from the transport I was very nervous and wary of the nice strangers, but in just a couple hours I was climbing on people and asking for pets! I opened up super quickly to my foster family as well, even on the very stressful transport day, and immediately was friendly with the dogs in my foster home! I love to chase, play fetch, and play tug. My foster family back in TN said I’m crate and house trained (none of that pesky puppy stuff to deal with). As I’m a border collie I will need an active family who understands the level of exercise and stimulation my breed needs. My foster mom would recommend a home without young children as she thinks I would get nervous with littles in my face and personal space. I know a few commands already and am smart as a whip so I know I will pick up anything I’m taught. Please apply to adopt me, I deserve a warm and loving home after all I’ve been through 🥰

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
