Rosie's Story

? Meet Rosie ?

This sweet 1.5-year-old mixed breed beauty has found her way back to the Lee County Animal Shelter in Bishopville, SC, through no fault of her own. Rosie’s previous owner didn’t follow through with the required spay agreement, but now this little lioness is once again waiting for the perfect family who will love her the way she truly deserves. ?

Rosie is beyond lovable — she has the softest, sweetest face and a heart to match. Her fluffy brown coat and small, shadowy black face make her look just like a tiny lion, but don’t let that fool you — she’s as gentle as they come. She adores affection, melts under gentle pets, and has a way of looking at you that makes you feel like the most special person in the world. ??

She’s already started her first round of vaccines and is on flea and tick prevention. Rosie is ready to snuggle up with her future family and start making memories.

We do want to share something important: Rosie is heartworm positive. But don’t worry — heartworms are treatable and absolutely not a death sentence! Rosie has already started her treatment through the shelter, and with the continued care and patience of a loving family, she has every chance at a long, happy, and healthy life. ??

Rosie deserves the world. She deserves a family who will see past her diagnosis and instead see the amazing, gentle, loving soul that she is. With her sweet spirit and golden heart, Rosie is ready to give unconditional love and loyalty to the family who finally says, “Yes, you’re ours forever.” ??

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with the courage of a lion and the heart of an angel, come meet Rosie. She’s waiting to love you more than you could ever imagine. ?

*** Shelter animals are not DNA tested upon intake. Breeds are guessed solely on looks. Breeds and sizes cannot be guaranteed.***
If you are interested in adding Rosie to your family, please come to the shelter to fill out an application. Our Office Hours are Monday-Friday 10am-2pm.
