Rosie's Story

Rosie could be that dream come true pup for active retirees who love spending their time with a very loving and engaging best friend. Our sweet girl would be overjoyed with the time and attention that dog-loving retired families often put into their pups. We feel that Rosie would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She is too sensitive a pup to spend the long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home.

Rosie is a sweet as can be Italian Greyhound / Fox Terrier mix (as per Texas veterinarians..we can never swear to it. All we know is that this little girl is absolutely irresistible!). At just 11 months old and a very portable 29 lbs, Rosie has all the great personality traits that endear a family to a fun and very loving companion dog.

Rosie is the perfect size to enjoy outdoor fun and cuddling. Long walks or hikes, window shopping on Pearl Street and enjoying games in the yard or park would speak to the nature of this fun-loving pup. Her smaller size make her more portable to take along for adventures and fun everywhere a sweet, smaller dog is welcome.

Rosie has the perfect amount of energy for her age. She's active and playful and then at day's end, she's the first to snuggle down next to her favorite people for hugs and sleep. Rosie loves fun and is entertaining in her silly antics, young energy and the huge love (once comfortable in her surroundings) she wants to show to all who are kind to her.

While Rosie may initially be a bit uncertain in a new environment, she's a very happy and engaging pup who loves life. If she's given just a minute (belly rubs and yummy treats are helpful) she is happy to come closer for a welcome hug. Before you know it, this engaging girl is gently loving you up to let you know the strength of her feelings.

The Texas rescuers recognized all of the wonderful qualities in this sweet dog and knew that Colorado was a perfect place for Rosie. They were positive that there was a loving and respectful home near the Rocky Mountains that would adore this beautiful dog and want to make her a permanent member of their family.

Being just a young pup, Rosie loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. Farfel's Rescue would like to see her in a home where she'll get this consistent stimulation and tons of loving hugs. Positive reinforcement / force free group training classes promote great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills.

Farfel's feels that Rosie should be given the opportunity to attend either virtual or in-person positive-reinforcement obedience classes to master skills and become a well-behaved and very pleasant companion out in the world. It is for these reasons that we're unwilling to adopt her out to a family that doesn't choose this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area.

Once Rosie is given the gift of sudsy baths and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect for longevity and coat care) her coat will become the cottony-soft hair that speaks of her good health.

Current research is very clear that the best diet we can provide for our pets is a fresh, human grade diet. Farfel's recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) due to our personal experience with our own dogs. It's one of the most important choices we make for our dogs great health and longevity.

Rosie is up to date on her her vetting/ vaccinations to support our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed. This aligns with our commitment to fighting population overgrowth in the canine community.

Rosie is arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 9/26/2026. If interested in this beautiful, sweet and very cuddly best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.

** PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Rosie please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pup. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
