Rosie's Story

Oh, Rosie. Where to begin with our friend Rosie?

Rosie came to Lollypop Farm when her former family could no longer care for her. She was a well-loved family member: living with humans and other dogs. So, coming to a place as scary as a shelter can sometimes be was understandably a huge shock to her system. Thus, she became quite shut down, and we've had a bit of a hard time getting her to want to "dog-around" like the rest of our canine pals.

You'll see a lot of our dogs out on Doggy Day Out adventures, smiling for the camera, or playing on agility equipment. Rosie, unfortunately, has not wanted to participate in such things. (She is "allowed" to, but has not wanted to.) Rosie prefers a slower approach from new humans: whipped cream on a lick mat, sweet-talkin' from our kennel staff members, things like that.

Rosie HAS had great success in our dog playgroups, though, and enjoys time out with other dogs. She is more social with humans when there is another dog around! So, she may be a great canine companion with a confident, well-rounded dog.

Rosie is unlikely to accompany you on your family camping trip for a jam-packed adventure, but is more than happy to accompany you on the couch for some easy snuggle time. Rosie is unlikely to want to go to dog daycare and tear it up with the doodle puppies and lab mixes, but she would love a fellow calm companion dog.

See what we mean? Rosie is a lovely girl, she is just seeking a slower, steady approach to life.

Are you also seeking this? Please come ask us about Rosie at Lollypop Farm!
