Rosie's Story

Rosie knows several commands including sit, come, stay, shake, heel and more. She has been gentle and loving from the start. She does have the ability to get the zoomies and start bouncing around when she is happy or excited. She is learning to play with toys to get out her energy. She is very calm most of the time and is not easily startled. She is not afraid of things she is not familiar with, but is cautious and listens well.

She is friendly with everyone, but gently friendly. Once the stranger has addressed her and reached down to pet her, she will lean into them and start wagging her tail and wiggling her buns. When she wants you attention, she will come to you, sit and reach her paw up to get your attention. Sometimes she will land the paw on you, sometimes she just looks in your eyes and sort of waves at you asking for attention.

She has stays off furniture and is very happy to be in her bed for rest, naps or sleep time. She will also gently and quietly follow you around the house as you do you chores. She does not beg at the table, but quietly lays in her bed and rests during meal time. She isn’t a noisy or a barker. She is not vocal at the open front door or when guests arrive. She welcomes in strangers and instantly becomes their gentle friends with her sweet personality.

While she does not currently have a resident dog in her foster home she has previously lived with dogs and a cat.

***For more information about this dog and information on how to apply to adopt, please visit www.ncbr.org***

Adoption Process At a Glance:

- Step 1 – Fill out the Adoption Application
- Step 2 – Preliminary Screening by Application Team which includes a Landlord check (if applicable) and vet Check
- Step 3 – Meeting with appropriate boxer(s)
- Step 4 – Home Visit
- Step 5 – Adoption Day

Adoption Requirements At a Glance.

* You must be 21 years of age
* You must have a fenced in yard (exceptions can be made for certain dogs)
* All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information)
* Applicants with young children will be required to answer additional questions
* Applicants that rent must provide Landlord contact info.
