Rosie's Story

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO MEET OUR PETS.

Meet Rosie!

Rosie is a beautiful little survivor who is finally learning what it means to be safe and loved.

At only 1 and a half to 2 years old and approximately 11 pounds, Rosie was found tied to the door of a local groomer. She was severely matted and in so much pain that she needed to be sedated for that first grooming at the vet. She was also very thin and had bruising, leaving us to wonder what she had been through.

Her groomer began her rehabilitation and veterinary care and reached out to us for help. Now, with her beautiful chestnut coat growing back, Rosie is discovering the good life.

Her foster mom says she is so, so good. She has had no accidents, is not destructive, loves toys, and sleeps through the night. She is not a barker and walks beautifully on a leash.

She is good with other dogs and also cats. She even likes to wrestle with friendly and willing kittens!

Rosie is still very fearful and needs time to learn that people won’t hurt her. She is especially afraid of kisses and can be very alert and nervous when she is out and about. But get her in bed with her foster family, and she is like a different dog! She relaxes, trusts them, and settles right in.

Rosie is very agile, fast, and energetic and would love an active family who can give her plenty of exercise, playtime, and adventure. We can picture her enjoying long hikes followed by a cozy nap with her people.

We took her to a doggie pool event recently and she enjoyed the water.

Rosie’s ideal home:
A fenced yard
No young children
An active family
Plenty of patience while she builds confidence
A full basket of toys!
Someone willing to let Rosie learn to trust at her own pace

Rosie has already come so far. Now she needs a family who will show her that the hard part of her life is behind her and that the best is yet to come.

Adoption donation $350
