(Click here for ways to donate financially: https://www.roadtorescuela.org/donate )

We have another costly rescue needing help! Meet Rosey. Rosey came to us from Caddo Parish Animal Services. She'd been picked up

by animal control after being hit by a car. She is currently at

Airline Animal Health and Surgery Center LLC

and under the care of our wonderful Orthopedic Doctor, Dr. Daville. I made lots of notes when talking with Dr. Daville and hope I get this right. Her left rear side is where the impact happened, but it also affected her right side. On the left side, she has a broken femur, along with sacroiliac luxation... a condition where the sacroiliac joint, which connects the pelvis to part of the spine, becomes dislocated. She has zero weight-bearing abilities on the left side. On the right side, she has a pubic fracture and a hairline pelvic fracture. Due to the complexity of her injuries, Dr. Daville recommended amputation of the left leg... with several weeks of kennel rest to give the left side an opportunity to heal fully. She is bearing weight on the right side despite the fractures. Rosey is scheduled for surgery within the next few days. We hope to have an update soon. Thank you as always for your love and support of our little furry friends.

#rescuelife

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi

Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
