Meet Rose Marie

Rose Marie is 6-month-old, 50-pound chocolate lab mix who embodies the ideal temperament for those seeking a laid-back companion; she is a happy girl who loves snuggling on the couch but also enjoys playing with other dogs, proving that she can strike a balance between calmness and fun. While Rose Marie appreciates affection if she approaches you, she isn't a fan of being approached. She will typically walk away when people walk toward her. With time and patience, she will grow more comfortable and develop a deeper bond. She is currently discovering the wonders of treats and peanut butter. Initially unfamiliar with these delights, she has quickly become treat motivated, even jumping with excitement to receive her tasty rewards. Although Rose Marie has exhibited some hesitation and barking towards her male caregiver, she has recently shown progress by joining him on the couch while maintaining a safe distance. This gradual acceptance demonstrates her willingness to overcome her fears and form meaningful connections. She would benefit from additional leash training but with guidance and positive reinforcement, she will learn to walk comfortably by your side. While Rose Marie is improving in her comfort level during car rides, she currently requires assistance getting into the vehicle. Patience and gradual exposure will help her overcome any anxieties and make car travel a breeze. Rose Maries shyness reflects her need for a patient and understanding owner who can provide a calm and nurturing environment, helping her build confidence over time. Rose Marie would do best in a home with other dogs.

Rose Marie, with her gentle spirit and a heart full of love, is eagerly awaiting the perfect family who will cherish and guide her on her journey. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this remarkable canine companion? Reach out today to make Rose Marie a cherished member of your family!

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
