Rose's Story

Rose is one of the sweetest souls you could ever hope to meet. While she is still settling in after a lifetime of trauma and learning how to feel safe, we are already starting to see glimpses of the gentle, loving dog she is becoming.

Rose finds comfort in familiar people and quiet reassurance. Once she trusts someone, she loves climbing into their lap and has even been known to drift off for naps curled up against her favorite caregivers. There is something incredibly special about earning her trust and watching her relax enough to simply rest.

She enjoys spending time with other dogs and will play at times, though she prefers calmer interactions and tends to step away if things become too rowdy or overwhelming.

Rose would likely benefit from another confident dog in the home with a medium energy level who can help show her the ropes while still respecting her softer, gentler nature.

Since coming to HSBC we have witness Rose having a seizure, she was immediately started on an affordable daily medication that she will likely need to continue for her entire life. As of now, we do not have any more information on what caused the seizure. We have checked her bloodwork, which came back normal, and continue to monitor with the help of a veterinary partner.

At this time, we do not yet have an anticipated go-home date for Rose as we continue helping her settle in and learn about her needs. However, we hope to soon begin the process of meet-and-treat appointments with prospective adopters as we work toward finding the right match for her. For more information on the process visit hsbcpets.com/beagles

Rose is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue helping her build confidence at her own pace while giving her all the love and security she has always deserved.
If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a Meet & Treat appointment, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt
