Roscoe's Story
Roscoe is a precious boy who is looking for a special home with patient humans as he is learning that the world isn't all scary. He has made great progress in his foster home! For the first couple of weeks, he mostly stayed glued to the couch where he felt safest, and he gradually settled in and became more comfortable. He is now a happy boy who loves to snuggle with his foster mom and play with toys! He also give occasional kisses. He is still scared with new people and in new situations and will take time to settle in to a new home.

Roscoe is house trained and does fine sleeping in his crate at night, though he prefers to sleep in bed with his human or in a dog bed nearby. He is generally quiet and rarely barks. He's a great work from home companion and is happy to lounge or chew on a nylabone toy for most of the day with a break for some time to run around and play outside. His foster mom thinks he is pretty perfect!

He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home - he let them sniff him when he arrived and since then, they have mostly ignored each other. He might like to play with another dog, but the dogs in his foster home are grumpy seniors so he respects their space.

Roscoe doesn't ask for much - he just wants to be safe and loved by humans who don't expect too much of him as settles in and continues to gain confidence. He is easily startled by unexpected noises and movements and would do best in a quiet, calm, and secure home.

Roscoe is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It's a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog's foster or volunteer will be in touch.

Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525
PA Kennel License 10872
