Rory T.'s Story

Hi, I’m Rory!

I am about a year old, shepherd mix of sorts (or Texas Special as my rescue says). I weigh 50lbs and the vet says I have a few more pounds to gain to get to my healthy weight of 60lbs.

When I first met my foster mom and dad, I was timid and unsure of the brand-new environment. With a little patience (and quite a bit of rotisserie chicken!), I warmed up quickly and realized these were my people. Now I like to be wherever they are — Laundry day? I’ll supervise. Baking? I’m on clean-up duty. Grabbing the mail? I’ll come give a helping paw. Movie night? No problem, I’ll settle in and keep watch over the popcorn.

I spend my days playing with my two young foster sisters (human kids ages 4 and 6), practicing my training, and enjoying all the cozy comforts of home life.

I love zoomies, and squeaky toys (my favorite is a T-rex dressed like Santa). I’ve never met a treat I didn’t like. Even a piece of kibble will convince me to work hard and learn fast. Training is one of my favorite activities, and I’m doing really well with it!

I know my family is heading out when the Kong comes out of the freezer — that’s my cue to sprint happily to my crate, enjoy my delicious treat, and take a quiet nap until they’re back.

I am quiet and polite, settle beautifully indoors, follow rules when boundaries are clear, and I don’t jump on furniture.

I can’t wait to meet the family I’ll get to love forever! Let’s meet!

Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/TLCdogapp
Adoption radius: within 60 miles of zip code 20906.
We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly
