Rory's Story

Posted on 10/13/23, and the pictures were taken on 10/13/23. Rory and his family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food. Rory was the first to get trapped in our live trap. He is a gentle giant that likes to give bear hugs over my arms when he feels a little frisky, and I have his huge sweet face in my hands praising him. He is extremely sweet and very sensitive to any hand movement, and lowers his head as if he thinks I'm going to hit him. He lowers his head a lot, and I've been working on getting him to keep his head up. He did dig under our fence twice at night until we laid hog panel on the ground, and then he climbed over our 4 foot fence to get to one of the females he was found with while she was in heat after we separated her until she was spayed, but he has stayed inside the fence since his neuter. He does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have. He's not very active, and lays around a lot. He is good on a leash, and sometimes growls at the other male dogs he is with, but he is good with them. He should not be with other dominant male dogs though. We don't know if he is house trained, but he is crate trained. He does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found. He was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and received heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23. He was estimated to be 4 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 72 pounds, and he was neutered on 9/22/23 weighing 77 pounds.

$70 adoption fee.
