Rorik's Story

Hi, my name is Rorik! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Sweet, attentive
-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history with kids so we are recommending kids around 12 years and up.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - would use caution if attempting to introduce to a feline friend.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, pending an initial intro done here at WHS. Rorik came to the shelter with Igmund and they would love to be adopted together! If you're looking for more than one dog, please consider this perfect pair.
-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended.
-Potty Trained: Yes
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Highly recommended but not required.
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter
-Additional Information: Rorik is a handsome guy who arrived to the shelter as a stray alongside two other Malamute mixes. While he’d love to go home with one (or both!) of his buddies, it’s not required — Rorik is ready to find his own special place in the world.

This fluffy boy can be a little shy when he first encounters new people or situations, but with a bit of patience and kindness, he warms up quickly and shows his affectionate, gentle side. Once he trusts you, he’s all heart — leaning in for pets and soaking up attention.

Rorik would thrive in an active home that understands the needs and personality of northern breeds. He’ll benefit from continued confidence-building, consistent training, and plenty of outdoor adventures to help him blossom into the loyal companion he’s meant to be.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
