Rooster's Story

Hey there! My name's Rooster, and while I may not wake up the whole farm at sunrise, I will wake up your heart with my bright eyes, happy spirit, and snuggly side.

I'm turning 1 year old on June 14th, which means I'm just a young rooster in the flock! I've got lots of life, love, and adventures ahead of me. For such a young guy, I've already got some impressive manners! I walk wonderfully on a leash and am always ready to strut my stuff on a nice walk.

Even though I'm new to the shelter, I've quickly made friends with all the staff and volunteers. I absolutely love attention and am always happy to soak up pets, cuddles, and compliments. What can I say? I'm a people bird... I mean, people dog!

My dream home would be an acreage where I can stretch my legs and explore, but I'd also do just fine living the town life with an active family who enjoys getting outside. Since I'm still a young guy with plenty of energy, a fenced yard is a must so I can safely play and zoom around.

So from me to you, Cock-a-doodle-doooo stop by and meet me! Let's head out for a walk together and fall in love!

Give my story a share if you'd like to help a guy out with finding his forever family! I appreciate all the help I can get

Good with cats: chases
Good with dogs: selective
Good with kids: yes

Peace River SPCA's Adoption Policy
We require an adoption application to be filled out for every animal before they can be adopted! If there is a specific animal you are interested in adding to your family please call us at 1-780-624-3633 and we would be happy to answer any questions! We offer trials as well! A trial is where you can take the furry friend you have been approved for home for up to 2 weeks to make sure that everything is a good fit before fully adopting them! A lot of our animals have come to us as strays so we don't have background information about many of the animals we have here with us, so we always encourage doing a trial before fully adopting just to make sure everyone can adjust to each other as it can be very stressful for some of them to leave the shelter and go to a new environment!
