Roodie's Story

Roodie Toodie Pumpkin Froooootie, Rue, Ra-booty!

Roodie is around 2 years of age and is the kind of pup who just wants to belong. She is incredibly sweet, deeply affectionate, and happiest when she feels part of a pack. Whether she’s leaning in for pets, snuggling close on the couch, or heading out for an adventure, Roodie simply wants to be near her people and share life with them.

She loves the company of other dogs and truly enjoys having canine friends around. Roodie is playful, affectionate, and does beautifully on walks. She has an active side and has been thriving with two walks a day or a 1 to 2 mile run, making her an excellent companion for someone who enjoys the outdoors. If you are looking for a loyal running partner or an adventure buddy who will happily keep up, Roodie is ready. After exercise, she is more than happy to settle in for snuggles and relaxation.

Roodie is also wonderfully well-mannered in the home. She has taken to grooming with ease, is crate trained and potty trained, and has proven to be non destructive when left alone. She genuinely wants to please and is the kind of dog who quickly becomes a beloved part of the family. Her foster family says it's hard to say enough good things about her because she truly is a special dog who is going to make someone very happy.

Roodie does have a few important needs to help set her up for success. Because she has a high prey drive, she is not suited for homes with cats or small animals. She does best with calm, well-socialized large male dogs when introductions are done slowly and thoughtfully, while her compatibility with female dogs is currently unknown. Outdoors, Roodie needs a secure setup and should either have a safely fenced yard or remain on leash with her person at all times. She is athletic and clever, known to look for weak points in fencing, and has demonstrated that she can scale a five-foot fence. With proper management and an active home that understands her needs, Roodie will absolutely thrive.

If you are looking for a devoted, affectionate companion who will join you for adventures and then happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Roodie may be the perfect match.
