Roo Onslow's Story

Are you looking for a beautiful, mature redhead? Roo is your girl. She’s a 7-yr old redbone-foxhound mix. She is shy at first and definitely enjoys the quietest corners in the house, unless it’s playtime with her puppy foster sister, there is a scent to follow outside, or food is being offered.

Once she trusts you, she loves to cuddle, and after some time, her playful side will come out (especially if there is a younger and/or more confident dog in the home to show her how to play). She is great with other dogs and has been caught cuddling her puppy foster sister. Roo puts herself in a crate or quiet corner if she feels overwhelmed, scared, or to sleep at night. If allowed, she will also cuddle up in bed with her foster mom and siblings. She has mastered housetraining with the doggy door and sits patiently for her food.

She is heartworm positive and has a special diet to manage her kidney disease. Despite her traumatic past, she is learning to love being a part of a loving pack, enjoying her warm bed, and playing with toys.
